This puzzle was written for Logic Showcase 25 in the Puzzlers' Club Discord server, in which we were tasked with creating a puzzle on a grid using a tiling other than the standard regular square tiling. I decided to opt for a regular tiling using two different types of tile, giving clues a different feel depending on which type of tile they are located in. I noticed the possibility of a powers of 2 theme after placing the clues for the break-in to this puzzle, and I'm happy it worked out all the way to the end.
Rules
Shade some cells so that all shaded cells form a single connected area. No interior vertex can be completely surrounded by shaded cells. Clue cells cannot be shaded, and indicate the sizes of contiguous groups of shaded cells in the "ring" of cells sharing at least one vertex with the clue cell.
Difficulty: 4/10
