This puzzle occupies a particularly special place in my heart. It was the puzzle I set for the first ever “speed-setting” competition on the Cracking the Cryptic Discord server, in which we were given one hour to create a Sudoku puzzle utilising the Thermo and Killer variants. I’ve found the constrained setting opportunities afforded by the competitions a great way to explore puzzles in a way I don’t normally, throwing concepts away quickly if they prove troublesome and, to borrow some terminology from the world of software development, failing fast and iterating rapidly.
And besides the fun I had in the process, I think this one actually turned out to be a rather good puzzle, if I do say so myself.
Rules

The numbers placed within a cage cannot repeat and must sum to the total in the corner of the cage. The numbers placed on each marked thermometer shape must strictly increase, starting from the end with the bulb.
