This is the first of two puzzles that I created for a prompt themed around "broken" puzzles. I had the idea for this one after seeing a few 9x9 Star Battle puzzles with regions shaped like jigsaw pieces.
Rules
Assemble the given pieces into a 9x9 square and then solve the resulting Heyawake. The pieces can be rotated, but not reflected.
Heyawake rules: Shade some cells so that no two shaded cells are orthogonally adjacent and the remaining unshaded cells form one orthogonally-connected area. Numbered regions must contain the indicated amount of shaded cells. An unbroken horizontal or vertical line of unshaded cells may not cross more than one bold border.
Note for automatic answer checking: Since the solution is only unique up to a rotation of the entire grid, automatic answer checking will only work in the configuration in which the 1-piece in the middle of the below image has not been rotated.
Difficulty: 6/10
