Puzzle #1 - Hidden Clone Sudoku

This was the first puzzle I ever wrote, and it was, to the best of my knowledge, a novel Sudoku variant at the time. My style has evolved a lot since writing this puzzle, but some elements of it still have my signature on.

Rules

Place a number from 1 to 9 into each empty cell so that every row, column, and bold-outlined region contains every number exactly once. Additionally, the grey shape must have an exact copy somewhere else in the grid, without rotations or reflections. The clone may overlap partially with the original shape.

Difficulty: 6/10
